I presume it is of nu use to present the Baillon Collection to any of you. After the news of the barnfind of dozens classic cars , it probably was he most spoken about subject for months. Without any doubt it was, and is, the dream of any of us to dig up a load of exceptional cars like this. French actor Alain Delon’s Ferrari 250GT SWB Daytona Spider, the Maserati A6G 2000 Gran Sport, a Facel Vega Excellence, a Hispano-Suiza H6B, a Bugatti 57 Ventoux, a Porsche 356C… and the list continues as these are just a few of the cars that were discovered.
As you all know the cars went under the hammer at the Paris Retromobile classic car show in Januari 2015. That was the first time the cars were presented to the public, and the first time anyone could admire the treasures these cars really were.
Actually that’s not completely true. French photographer Remi Dargegen was one of the lucky few that was invited for a few days to the french estate where the cars were hidden for many years. The result of his visit is stunning. A portrait of the cars exactly as they were found. To say it with Remi Dargegen’s own words : „Unbelievable, just unbelievable. This place is unique. What is most impressive, is the sheer number of cars, that were stored in the barns.“The enthusiasm of the photographer about this barnfind can clearly be found in this book. It is a unique way to see how these cars, once destined to end up in a private car museum, were found in barns. Unbelievable, just unbelievable.
