The Classic Days Schloss Dyck is an event that has got the inspiration from the Goodwood Revival. The visitors of the Classic Days Schloss Dyck are thrown into the world how it was many years ago. The heatwave that hangs above Germany changed the ever green park and meadows into a dry desert like prairie. Nevertheless, the thousands of visitors, many of them driving a classic car themselves, had some 3 splendid days at the Classic Days 2018.

One of the traditional parts of the Classic Days Schloss Dyck, is the demo laps by the different groups of cars. Unfortunately it is demonstration , there is no actual racing. But that doesn’t kill all the fun, as it is always great to see legendary pilots take the wheel of iconic cars and do the demos. And there is always an opportunity to talk to those race legends, during the autograph sessions or when they are walking on the premises. This year Hans Herrmann, Eckard Schimpf, Walter Röhrl and Hans-Joachim Stuck were some of the celebrities spotted during the Classic Days Schloss Dyck. On Saturday The Coys Auction house brings some cars on the block for auction. We will report later on the auction in a separate article.

Eckard Schimpf had 3 amazing Porsches on display in Jägermeister livery : the Porsche 914/6, the Porsche 911 RSR and the Porsche 962C. Some more rare Porsches at the Concours d’Elegance on the peninsula near the castle : a 1967 Porsche 911 Softwindow Targa, in the meantime a collectors item, and the rare Porsche 930 Gemballa Avalanche, a over the top tuned car with a giant rear spoiler ; only 13 cars were ever produced.
