Technoclassica 2007, the largest classic car show in the world

Every year end March, begin April in Essen Germany the Technoclassica takes place. In 2007 it had 154.300 visitors from 38 nations. 1036 vendors from 15 nations. Over 50% of the show-cars for sale found a new owner, which is overwhelming !!
img37The fast sellers in the range of more than 2,500 vehicles included racing- and sports cars – ranging from a dark-blue Mercedes-Benz with 250 PS SSK, year of manufacture 1929 and a red Ferrari 275 GTB with 260 PS, YOM 1966, to a Bugatti 16.4 Veyron. A white Pegaso Z-102 cabriolet with 3.2 litre engine from the year 1955 was a further highlight and found a new owner for 1.4 million Euros.
The dream of many classic car enthusiasts, a black Mercedes-Benz SS with 180 PS, YOM 1928, was sold for 2.46 million Euros and starts a long journey to Australia. Furthermore, cars from the 60s and 70s suitable for everyday use have been requested as never before.
A newly rebuilt Porsche 911 trimmed as racing car was 210,000 Euros, a Mercedes 220 A cabriolet was traded with 155,000 Euros and a 53-Bentley found a new owner for 37,000 Euros. A young classic 79 Golf was sold for 7,300 Euros.
I show some pictures here so you have an impression of what this show is like. I’m only showing pictures of Porsches (or Porsche related) but there’s really lots of other amazing cars (and people) too.
