Zoute GP 2017

The Zoute Sale

The Bonhams Auction House returned to Knokke Le Zoute for the fourth auction sale yet. The presence of the major auction house has become a tradition that we hope will continue in the coming years. There was from the beginning a lively bidding on the various memorabilia. Major results was without any doubt the €1.2 million hammer price for the 2017 Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet. Mercedes-Benz only made 96 of these cars to the market, and this one was the very last that was available to the public. Next to that, the car was offered by Mercedes-Benz for charity. As Porsches have been subject to lively bidding and world record prices on several auctions the last few years, it is no surprise there were quite some Porsches going under the hammer in the 2017 Bonhams Zoute Sale too.

The Zoute Concours d’Elegance

The Approach Golf, located within walking distance of the Albertplein is the venue where the Zoute Concours d’Elegance is hosted. On Sunday the cars move to the Fairway 1 and Fairway 4 of the famous Royal Zoute Golf Club. During this two-day event, more than 100 unique, remarkable and exclusive classic cars were shown to the visitors and submitted to the judgement of an international jury. There was ofcourse a strong contingent of Ferrari’s present, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the  iconic Italian brand. More birthday’s were celebrated with 60 years Mercedes SL and 60 years of BMW 507. Unfortunately for us, this year there was only 1 Porsche 356 at the Zoute Concours d’Elegance, and in our opinion this was not the very best preserved Porsche 356 C we’ve ever seen.
