Stefan Bogner is a name that is probably very familiar to most of you. He’s an excellent photographer, and the Curves book series is his brainchild. With “Cars & Curves Vol. 1” Bogner scored an overwhelming success. And it definitely looks like the successor “Cars & Curves Vol. 2” will be a direct hit too.
The book is about all that Porsche stands for: the sheer fun of driving your Porsche. And it really doesn’t matter what Porsche you have, or what road you want to enjoy your Porsche. Stefan Bogner knows how to visualize that passion for Porsche like no other.
In “Cars and Curves Vol.2” Stefan Bogner takes us on the road on different continents. He traveled to the USA and shot splendid pictures of Jeff Zwart’s Porsche 356 Pre A on scenic roads in the Rocky Mountains. He follows a short wheelbase Porsche 911 in Thailand and has Porsche designer Michael Mauer’s Porsche 993 in front of his lens in Southern Germany.
“Cars and Curves Vol. 2” has race cars like the Porsche 917, Porsche 935, and Porsche 962 in the iconic Cork Screw curve at the Laguna Seca Raceway during the Porsche Rennsport Reunion VI. Or how about racers from the early race history like the Porsche 550 Spyder at the Grossglöckner Pass , or the Porsche 356 Carrera Abarth in Austria.
Conclusion.
“Cars and Curves Vol.2” is what we would call a fantastic coffee-table book. All kinds of Porsches, classic and modern, streetcars or pure racers, all play a major role. Stefan Bogner has done some great photography. And it is a joy to flip through the pages and enjoy the pictures. However, we would have liked the text to have more details about the cars. Don’t expect to gain much knowledge about any of the Porsches in the book, nor from the race history of Porsche. But you can easily fill a few lazy Sundays enjoying the pictures.
