Spa Classic Logo

Tackling the Spa-Francorchamps circuit at the wheel of a historic racing car is one of those privileged experiences that drivers love and await with impatience from one season to the next. This year Spa-Classic celebrating its ninth staging has cemented its place as one of the major rendezvous on the European historic racing landscape.

The Heritage Touring Cup, a tribute to the famous Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours for Touring Cars, is again one of the star grids. Spa-Classic also puts on nighttime races for touring cars that are part of the tradition of this circuit.

It’s joined by seven other Peter Auto grids and clubs that take part in the festival and can also participate in runs out on the track. And as is the case at all our events the public, the drivers and their cars all mix and mingle creating a real feeling of communion around the passion for the motor car.

Since 2014 the Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or is back in the hands of its former promoter, Peter Auto, whose aim is to apply the experience it has acquired in its benchmark events like Le Mans Classic to the Dijon meeting. The 2018 event confirmed the success of this format with an attendance of 15 000 spectators.

This year almost 300 cars retracing the history of motorsport are again expected on track. The makes clubs, other privileged players in events organized by Peter Auto, brought together many collectors and fans who could, if they so wished, enjoy sessions reserved for them to lap the track at the wheel of their own cars. All the paddocks are open to the public enabling them to see cars and drivers up close. In addition, numerous stands sold scale models, books, accessories and motor car souvenirs of all kinds rounding off the wide range of attractions on offer at the Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or.

The sky, the sun and the track

The Dix Mille Tours has been on the calendar of Peter Auto events since 2010 and it’s one that the entrants particularly look forward to because of the quality of the Paul Ricard circuit infrastructures, and the technical challenge posed by its layout. The wide run-off areas that line the track enable the drivers – whether experienced or not – to really go flat out at the wheel of cars of great historical value. This comment is also valid for the owners of collector cars. In addition to the racing cars 400 automobiles of all kinds – sporting, popular, luxurious – from all eras transformed the event into an open air museum under blue skies over the three days.
