You probably are a Porsche lover, if not, you wouldn’t haven been here in the first place. So statistically I can assume a Porsche lover, loves motorsport in general. In case I’m still correct with this assumption, please continue to read, as this book might be the one you want on your book shelf.

Journalist and former race pilot Jörg Waltz describes in this book the history of motorsport , starting from the early beginning in 1894, up to 2011. For each year, some anecdotes, pictures or intresting facts are described in short. After reading the book , you have a complete vision on how motorsports evoluated over near 120 years.

Next to lots of full color and bw pictures, you can find some great statistics on motorsports in the back of the book, so you can use the book as a reference guide to lookup the winner for a F1 World Champion, or to find out who won the 24h of Le Mans, the Mille Miglia race, just to name some.

For us Porsche aficionados, the author describes in detail what a certain Porsche car meant for racing in that particular year, and as you can imagine there are some of them like the Cisitalia, the Porsche 550 Spyder, the Porsche 917; Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo, the Kremer Porsche 935 K3 just to name some of them.

I can really recommend this book to anyone who wants a reference guide to motorsport, without spending too much money.
