Probably it is of no use to introduce Le Mans Classic by Peter Auto to you. The event held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France takes – in theory- place every 2 years.. From 30 June to 3 July 2022, after four years of absence due to successive postponements for COVID reasons, it was with emotion that the reunion for the long-awaited 10th edition of Le Mans Classic took place for all its participants. The event celebrates the history and heritage of endurance racing, featuring classic cars from the 1920s to the 1980s. And with a history of 19 overall victories at Le Mans, you can imagine what an unforgettable event it was for all Porsche enthusiasts.
Porsche has a rich history at Le Mans, having won the race a record 19 times, with a first class win in 1951 and a first overall victory in 1970. The brand has played a significant role in shaping the history of the event, and their cars have become a symbol of endurance racing. At the 2022 Le Mans Classic, Porsche is set to be one of the star attractions, with a range of iconic models set to take to the track.
The event is divided into six grids, each featuring different classes of cars from different eras. The Porsche models were spread across several grids, with some of the most notable models including the Porsche 917, Porsche 911 Carrera RSR, and Porsche 935 but ofcourse earlier race cars like the Porsche 550 Spyder, Porsche 718 RSK and Porsche 904 joined the party too. And it would be very impolite not to mention more common cars like the Porsche 356 and Porsche 911.
In addition to the on-track action, Peter Auto makes sure visitors can enjoy a range of off-track activities. These include a classic car auction and a village where exhibitors show their goodies to make the classic atmosphere complete.
The Le Mans Classic once again was a must-attend event for all classic car enthusiasts. It offers a unique opportunity to see some of the most iconic race carsin action and to experience the history and heritage of endurance racing. And after this wonderfull edition, we can’t but look forward to 2023, where Le Mans Classic will celebrate 100 years of Le Mans and 75 years of Porsche sportscars.
