Last weekend in Hamburg the Prototyp Museum had a final rehearsal before the great opening of the museum next weekend.
Lots of people from all over the world joined the great party at the Prototyp premises in the ‘Hafencity’ of Hamburg.
After entering people had to wait before the ‘real museum’ opened, but this didn’t mean there were no cars to see. How about to Polensky’s monoseater , the body of the Mercedes record-car, a former Michael Schumacher car, the Audi R8 LM Prototyp and more
After some speeches, the doors to the museum opened. Just take a look at the pictures, as words really cannot describe what can be admired there : Otto Matthés cars, a Porsche Gläser Cabriolet, a Porsche 1950 Coupe which is the earliest known Stuttgart Coupe. A Porsche Jagdwagen, A Denzel, the Vasek Polak Porsche 356 Speedster, a Porsche 904, Porsche 906. Too bad the Porsche Gmünd was not yet in the museum, let’s hope next time I visit I will be able to see this car.
Lots of memorabilia of Otto Matthé, like his leather race jacket, the famous Porsche Gmünd Brochure, the original water-drawings of the 1900-1945 DEMAR Brochure (M&M 11) and many many more.
In case you are in Hamburg , don’t hesitate and just go visit the Prototyp Museum.
