One of the highlights in the historic rally scene in Belgium is without any doubt the Ypres Historic Rally. Nothing else this year, with the usual suspects at the start.

In the Historic Rally-FIA, the Friday sessions were dominated by Stefan Stouf, a name probably not unknown to the historic rally-lovers. Stouf managed to achieve a lead of about 25 seconds on Friday Saturday sessions started the same way, which made many think that victory for Stouf would be overwhelming. However, Paul Lietaer, another known name, managed to fight back. This made the last stint extremely exciting, with Stouf starting the stint with a lead of only 2.3 seconds. In the end, Stouf with co-pilot Joris Erard gained a well deserved victory.

In the Historic-Rally National, all honors went to Glenn Janssens, again a name that’s very familiar to the rally-lovers. He achieved victory with an astonishing 2 minute lead at the final chequered flag.
