The racing calendar of the 2022 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup
Some Porsche Supercup History
The Porsche Supercup has quite a long history. It all started April 25 1993 in Imola as part of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The Porsche Supercup debuted as the pinnacle of the Porsche one-make cups. Immediately, the new race series took the international motorsport scene by storm. So why is the Porsche Supercup that fascinating?

We can give you quite some reasons obviously. Above all the Porsche Supercup takes place in the exclusive environment of Formula 1. And without any doubt, Formula 1 remains the champions league of motorsport. The Grand Prix circuits on which the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars run their laps as support races to the Formula 1 belong to the most famous in the world. Take a look at Rascasse in Monaco, Parabolica in Monza, Eau Rouge in Spa-Francorchamps, Stowe in Silverstone. All are names of some of the most well-known corners that get motorsport enthusiasts’ heartbeats in overdrive.

Top drivers from the very best international Porsche one-make cup customer teams compete against each other in identical Porsche GT3 Cup cars. You can imagine the fierce battles fought out on the tarmac. The audience feels the tension and excitement. Those participating in the championship have already proven their exceptional talent in other racing series, like the national Porsche Carrera Cups. As such, anticipation is starting to build for an action-packed Supercup season in which 8 races are held on 8 different race tracks across Europe with a field of up to 32 starters.
The 2022 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season
In 2022, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will again include eight races run as part of the European Formula 1 race weekends. And Porsche’s exemplary youth development initiative has served as a springboard into a professional racing career for the last 25 years. Many works drivers, world champions, and Le Mans winners have emerged from this development program. The careers of Timo Bernhard (Porsche Junior 2000 to 2001), Marc Lieb (2000 to 2002), and Earl Bamber (2014) are prime examples: All three have won the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours with the Porsche 919 Hybrid at least once and have clinched titles in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
