Twice a year, the Porsche Club of America (PCA) welcomes all enthusiasts to the Werks Reunion. The events take place whether on Amelia Island or in Monterey. The 8th edition of the Werks Reunion Amelia Island took place last Friday and preceded the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. Once again the Amelia River Club was the place to be for all Porsche aficionados.

And despite the rainy, cloudy, and cold weather, hundreds of fans showed up and brought an astonishingly beautiful array of Porsches, from rare to current models, and everything in between! We were told roughly 800 cars in total were expected, not including those that didn’t make it in the corrals, and were left by their caretakers in the visitor parking lots. One of the absolute eyecatchers on the field was a car that featured a few weeks ago at the F.A.T. International Ice Race in Aspen: the very Porsche 911 GT1 in which Stefan Ortelli, Laurent Aïello and Allan McNish won the 1998 Le Mans 24 Hours.
