For the first time in fifteen years, Porsche will bring together its worldwide one-make racing community for a truly historic occasion: the second-ever Porsche Carrera World Cup. The event will take place on the first weekend of March 2026 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, marking a milestone moment for the brand’s motorsport heritage and for every driver who has ever competed in a Porsche one-make series.

The Carrera World Cup is no ordinary race weekend. It stands as a celebration of Porsche’s global motorsport spirit — uniting competitors from nearly 40 national and regional Carrera Cups, the Porsche Sports Cups, and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The last time this extraordinary gathering took place was in 2011 at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. That debut event saw 98 drivers from 25 nations take the start in 911 GT3 Cup cars, creating one of the most iconic spectacles in customer racing history.
Fifteen years later, the spirit returns — bigger, faster, and more global than ever.
A New Chapter for a Unique Racing Tradition
Up to 100 drivers are expected to compete in the 2026 Carrera World Cup, all piloting the current 911 GT3 Cup (type 992.1) with its 510 PS flat-six engine. Due to the more compact layout of Barcelona compared to the Nordschleife, the event will introduce a new format. Drivers will be divided into four groups of up to 30 cars, each contesting three 30-minute sprint races plus a qualifying session. Points will be awarded across three categories — Pro (for FIA Gold/Silver drivers), Pro-Am (Bronze-rated drivers over 30), and the Michelin Class (Bronze drivers over 45).

The top half of each group will advance to two semi-final races, which will decide the 30-car grid for the grand final — the race that will crown the overall World Cup champion.
Honoring the Legacy, Looking to the Future
With over 1,130 units of the current 911 GT3 Cup built to date, Porsche’s one-make program remains the heartbeat of its customer racing universe. The Carrera World Cup perfectly embodies the DNA that has made Porsche Motorsport such a force — pure racing passion, international camaraderie, and technical excellence rooted in decades of competition.

The event will also serve as a symbolic bridge to the future. Beginning with the upcoming season, Porsche will introduce the new 911 GT3 Cup (type 992.2) to the Mobil 1 Supercup and selected Carrera Cups. Featuring 520 PS and a range of technical improvements, the car will carry Porsche’s one-make series into the next era of competition.
A Celebration Fifteen Years in the Making
Michael Dreiser, Director Sales Porsche Motorsport, captured the spirit of the occasion perfectly: “The Carrera World Cup showcases the huge power and passion of the global Porsche Motorsport community. As one of the leading providers in customer racing, we want to bring this fantastic community together and celebrate it.”
After fifteen years, the return of the Carrera World Cup is more than just another race — it’s a reunion of generations of drivers, engineers, and fans who have lived Porsche’s motorsport story. From the Nürburgring in 2011 to Barcelona in 2026, the Carrera World Cup remains a symbol of what Porsche racing is all about: competition, heritage, and an unbreakable love for the 911.
