The 2008 edition of the Essen Motorshow, which takes place every year in the same venue as the Technoclassica in March-April, had over 300.000 visitors, despite the fact that some large manufacturers like Porsche, Ford, BMW, Mercedes , Toyota and some other didn’t show up. I wonder what’s the reason for not showing up at the Essen Motorshow ? Is it because of the worldwide crisis ? Probably it has more to do with the fact that Essen Motorshow is evoluating more and more into a tuning show.
People more into vintage cars however, shouldn’t miss the Essen Motorshow, since there’s always 1 hall dedicated to oldtimers, vintage cars and so on. This year, on saturday december 6 there was a reunion of former race pilots at the ADAC stand. Among many people, some real Porsche icons like Udo Schutz , Kurt Ahrens, Peter Falk , Manfred Jantke, Dieter Glemser,Jurgen Neuhaus, Dieter Dechent,Harald Grohs, Hans Heyer, Clemens Schickentanz, Volkert Merl and Dieter Schornstein showed up.
