Flanders Collection Cars Gent belongs to the most important classic car shows in Belgium. The biggest show is the Interclassics Classic Car Show in Brussels, which takes place in autumn. 3 days long, the expo center in Gent was the epicenter of the Belgian classic car world. And that became clear upon my arrival on Friday, just after the opening of the show. I was surprised by the number of visitors already strolling through the expo halls. And it was great to be welcomed by some fine examples of different generations of the Porsche 911, just after entering the show.

The theme of Flanders Collection Cars was ‘Homage to Giotto Bizzarini’. The Italian engineer and designer who had a hand in some of the greatest Gran Turismo’s ever made. He unfortunately passed away last year. Flanders Collection Cars wanted to bring tribute to the founder of Bizzarini, one of the rarest car brands, founded in 1964 and thus celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2024 too. However, we believe that showing just a single Bizzarini isn’t the celebration Giotto Bizzarini deserves. Not even when that car has a Lamborghini Miura and an Iso Griso next to it.

On the Porsche side, it looks as if on the Belgian classic car market, the attention moved too. Just a single Porsche 356 in the show, and far more Porsche 911s of different model ranges. And of course, the transaxles are making their way up too, with some Porsche 924s and Porsche 928s. In a few weeks, the sister event Flanders Collection Cars Antwerp takes place, so make sure to mark April 5-7 in your agenda, even though that coincides with Techno Classica in Essen (Germany).
