With the start of a new year, most of the eyes of the classic car world are directed toward the Paris Retromobile Show early February. However, many seem to forget that is not the first classic car show that of the year that is very worthwile to visit. Despite the traditional high quality, many European classic car fans don’t make it to the Interclassics Show in Maastricht, Netherlands. We didn’t make that mistake and went to the MECC to be part of a classic car party.
30 years Interclassics Maastricht
This year, Interclassics celebrates its 30th anniversary. In doing so, a survey was sent out with the invite to vote for the visitors favourite cars from the past 30 years. In 2 rounds of voting, visitors could choose from more than 100 exclusive vintage cars and supercars. From this, the Ferrari 250SWB turned out to be the public’s favourite.
The Porsches at Interclassics Maastricht
A visit to Interclassics Maastricht never disappoints when you’re a Porsche fan. And the 30th edition was no exception on that point. Among the cars chosen in the survey as the most popular, you could see the 1973 Porsche 911 RS 2.7. An absolute stunner and no surprise to be in the ‘most popular’ list. (See picture 8 of the gallery above). But hey, there were a whole lot more Porsches. From an early 1952 Porsche 356 Coupe, over Porsche 911 from every generation, the transaxle Porsches and even a Porsche 718 RS 61 and a Porsche 962 (962-147). Mark Wegh and his team of Porsche Center Gelderland draw lots of attention with a wide variety of Porsches, among them some very rare and collectable cars.
