Porsche sells MHP to Tata Consultancy Services.
Porsche has agreed to sell its management and IT consultancy MHP to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The two companies signed the corresponding agreement on 24 August 2026. For Porsche, the transaction represents another step in its “Sportwagenschmiede 35” strategy, which is aimed at sharpening the company’s focus on its core automotive business.
The planned change in ownership is also intended to create the basis for closer cooperation between Porsche, TCS and MHP. The companies plan to work together on digital technologies and artificial intelligence, with the objective of speeding up the development and implementation of AI solutions throughout important areas of Porsche’s business. This cooperation is expected to support Porsche’s broader digital transformation and create new opportunities across its value chain.
According to Porsche CEO Dr Michael Leiters, the sale allows the sports car manufacturer to concentrate more strongly on its principal business while gaining TCS as a strategic technology partner. The combination of Porsche’s automotive expertise and TCS’s capabilities in digital technology and AI is intended to improve efficiency, innovation and competitiveness as the automotive sector becomes increasingly dependent on software and data.
The transaction still requires the usual regulatory and competition approvals and is expected to be completed in the coming months. TCS plans to acquire MHP as a whole. Despite the ownership change, MHP will keep its existing name and continue operating as an independent consulting company.
As part of the Tata Group, MHP is expected to gain access to additional technological expertise and greater opportunities for international development. At the same time, its relationship with Porsche will remain in place. MHP will continue supporting Porsche with digitalisation and transformation projects, with artificial intelligence expected to be an increasingly important area of cooperation.
MHP has grown considerably since its establishment more than three decades ago. The company now operates internationally as a management and IT consultancy, helping organisations with complex strategic and technological transformation projects. Its work spans the full value chain and combines industry-specific knowledge with technology expertise to develop practical business models, processes and scalable solutions.
Although MHP has strong roots in the automotive sector, its activities also extend into manufacturing, aerospace, defence, energy and the public sector. Areas such as artificial intelligence, software-defined manufacturing, supply-chain management, cybersecurity, programme management and digital platforms are among the company’s key fields of expertise and future growth. MHP currently employs more than 4,500 people worldwide and is headquartered in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart.
TCS CEO and Managing Director K. Krithivasan described the agreement as an opportunity to combine TCS’s strengths in AI, engineering, technology and business transformation with MHP’s specialist knowledge of the automotive industry. The companies aim to help Porsche deploy AI more broadly and accelerate technological innovation throughout its operations.
Once the acquisition has been completed, MHP will become part of Tata Consultancy Services. TCS is a global provider of IT, consulting and technology services and operates across a wide range of industries. The company is part of the Tata Group and has a presence in 55 countries.,
