On December 11, 2025, Porsche celebrated the 90th birthday of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the designer best known for creating the original Porsche 911. To mark this milestone, Porsche’s Sonderwunsch customisation programme has developed a very special limited-edition 911 GT3: the 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche. Only 90 units of this collector’s model will be built, and one of them has already been claimed by F. A. Porsche’s son, Mark Porsche.

This anniversary model is based on the Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring Package, the version of the GT3 that pairs exhilarating, naturally aspirated performance with a more understated appearance. The 4.0-litre flat-six engine delivers its power in the familiar high-revving way that GT3 enthusiasts love, preserving the pure driving experience that defines the GT3 lineage.

The design of the 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche pays homage to a 911 from the 1980s that F. A. Porsche himself drove. Exterior and interior touches are drawn from that personal connection. An exclusive paint colour called F. A. Greenmetallic was developed with input from the Porsche family to reflect the Oak Green metallic hue of the original car. Sport Classic style wheels finished in satin-gloss black give the car a distinctive look not typically seen on GT3 Touring models, and unique badging throughout the car underscores its commemorative nature.

Inside the cabin, bespoke details continue the tribute to Porsche’s design heritage. The central seat panels are trimmed in a special Grid-Weave fabric inspired by the pattern of F. A. Porsche’s favourite sport coat, combining multiple woven colours for a distinctive appearance. This fabric also appears in other interior elements, reinforcing the theme throughout the car. The fabrics used will most probably be available in the new list of historic fabrics recently launched.

More personal touches include a plaque on the dashboard area that references F. A. Porsche and the limited nature of the edition, while customers will also enjoy exclusive lifestyle items crafted to match the car’s theme. Each buyer will receive a special edition of the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 watch and a matching travel bag, both created to commemorate this unique model and echo the design language of the car itself.

Porsche is also reviving another piece of its design history with this project: the Porsche Junior sports sled. Originally offered in the 1960s, this lightweight sled returns in a modern form limited to 90 units. Finished in the same F. A. Greenmetallic colour and featuring the Grid-Weave fabric on its seat cushion, it provides a playful link to Porsche’s past and the family connection at the heart of the GT3 90 F. A. Porsche story.

The 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche will be available to order from April 2026, with production beginning later that year. For Porsche fans and collectors, this edition blends the thrilling performance of the GT3 platform with a deeply personal tribute to one of the most influential figures in the brand’s design history.
