The Porsche 911 can be considered one of the few car that leaves no-one without emotions. Or you like it, or you don’t. In this book, the author Ulf Poschardt admits his love for the freedom a 4-wheeler gives him.
Jerry Seinfeld, the american comedian, owns one of the largest private collections of Porsches, among them many Porsches 911. Magnus Walker, the L.A. based Urban Outlaw, collects vintage Porsches 911 and transforms them into outlaw cars that look exactly the way he would have drawn them back in the 60ies if he would have been the designer. On the other side, a guy like Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, is a non-believer. He despises the Porsche 911 for whatever reasons.
Born in a company, erected by a family that has filled many pages in newspapers and books , not always in a positive way, the Porsche 911 has undergone serious technical evolutions and revolutions. Once the Porsche 911 was pre-destined to end in the dungeons of the factory, and to be replaced by other cars. However, the new cars didn’t sell the way the management wanted, and they gave rebirth to the car, saving the factory from bankruptcy and making it to what is it now : part of the most powerfull automotive family ever.
Ulf Poschardt dives into the lives of the 911 drivers and explores their souls. He discovers one great constant : all of them experience a 911-way of living.
