It is not very often that I review a book that has nothing to do with Porsche in the large sense. So what's the reason that I cover a book about a man, rather unknown to many sportscar and vintage race enthusiasts. The one and only reason is admirance for what this man achieved in racing and motorsports.

Graham Warner, a former Royal Airforce man competed at an international level in all stages of motorsports, he drove sports car himself, he was the creator of the Gemini brand of the Formula Juniors as a manufacturer. Besides that, Graham Warner fielded cars on behalf of McLaren, Lotus and Brabham and he had an extraordinarly eye for race talent. Without Graham Warner, the career of Jim Clarck probably would have been completely different, as Warner gave Clar the maiden start in a single seater. More drivers that followed Clarck on the nursery slope of motorsports were Jackie Ickx, Jackie Stewart and many more.

After warner reached the summit of motorsports, Formula 1, with a privateer Brabham, he changed tack and he entered the epic Lancia Stratos with memorable success in rallyesport. After that, Warner returned to his eternal love : aviation.

Once again, nothing Porsche in this book, but it is a great read when you love motorsports and passionate people. This book tells the story of the london based dealership / race team , the Chequered Flag.
