This year, Valentine weekend in Spa (Belgium) was especially a weekend for people in love with rally and rally cars.Near 250 cars started in 2 groups, the Classic and the Legend. Especially the Porsche 911 was good represented , but there were some Porsches 356, a few Porsche 914/6, Porsche 924 too.
As the pictures , by Wilfried Geerts, clearly show, weather wasn’t very well. Lots of snow in the Belgian Ardennes. Literally tens of thousands of spectators enjoyed the different stages in this rally. 2 of the stages were cancelled due to the bad conditions but luckily there were no major incidents.
Both in the Legend as in the Classic, the overall victory went to a Porsche 911. Patrick Snijers, former Belgian Rally Champion, won the Legend. Victory in the Classic Series was for Lopes – Lambert in a Porsche 911 too.
