California Porsche Restorations in Fallbrook, CA
Despite the fact that my last visit to the Los Angeles Literature and Toy Show, was my 9th consecutive trip yet, this year I decided to drive on Thursday to Fallbrook for the first time. My goal was a visit to the CPR open house. Honestly, I regret I didn’t make that decision the first visit.
I decided to drive from LA to Fallbrook, which took just under 2 hours one direction. Not only was it worth the ride for the beautiful scenery. I learned the legendary Riverside racetrack was not that far from my route, making me think of a stop there next year. Immediately after I arrived at the premises of California Porsche Restorations, I realized this wasn’t just a shop restoring a few cars. The complete area was literally packed with Porsches. Some of them covered and waiting for a restoration or maybe as donor-cars.
Several Porsches 356 and 911’s were on trolleys, waiting on their turn to be restored. Hard to imagine a model line that was not somewhere begint restored. You could experience what it is to do bodywork, since they were working on cars. That’s smart I think. This is the way CPR makes clear to possible customers that they’re doing a great job. Nothing’s hidden, you can see what needs to be done to restore a car. And above all, future customers better understand why they need a deep wallet for a concours restoration.
Next to the cars being worked on, there were dozens of Porsches 356 and 911, both restored or with patina, waiting for a new customer. While walking through the different garages and inspecting the cars, all visitors were invited to grab a cold soda or donut.
