Porsche has always been very successful on the track, and used these successes as a marketing tool to sell the road cars. Obviously Porsche Decades explores both road car and competition car history. There is a brief overview of the important features and developments for all of Porsche’s important cars and it includes changes from one generation to the next. Different generations of the Porsche 356 and Porsche 911 are compared using charts and comparison tables. Porsche Decades is peppered with trivia and interesting facts, many of them illustrated with pictures and illustrations.

Porsche Decades has appendices for Porsche’s type number history and prominent appearances by Porsches in Hollywood films. An extensive bibliography details books, magazine and internet articles for readers to explore for more information on topics of interest. The foreword is written by Miles Collier, founder of the Revs Institute that houses one of the largest private car collections and automotive archives on the globe. Hundreds of pictures, most from the Porsche AG Corporate Archives are used, but unfortunately very few were never published before. Porsche Decades is a book that summarizes several other books in one, which might justify the price.
