I presume no one reading this article, is ignorant about the Festival of Speed at Goodwood. As soon as you consider yourself intrested in motorsport , no matter if it’s F1 or vintage races, you should consider to visit the Festival of Speed at least once.

Goodwood_FOS_033Established in 1993, the Festival of Speed has become the world’s largest gathering of motoring culture. Every summer the Festival attracts the best drivers and cars on the planet and many famous racers and cars are present. Actually that’s an understatement, as you can get in touch with the best motorsport pilots of all era’s, hunt for their signatures, lay your hand on their shoulder for a picture of you and your idol. And it sure is a unique opportunity to see, feel and smell the race cars most people of the world can only hope to see in a TV show.

This year you could meet people like Stirling Moss, Jacky Ickx, Jackie STewart, Derek Bell, Emerson Fittipaldi to name just a few. Lotus was the head sponsor, and they brought all of the cars with any significance in motorsport to the event. And current F1 Teams like Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren,Mercedes and others had pilots like Vettel, d’Ambrosio, Webber, Lewis Hamilton, Button present to give a few shows in their cars.

On the Porsche side you could admire 2 Porsches 917, a rare Porsche F1 804, some Porsches 956 and a 962, a rare Porsche 911 SCRS on the rally stage, next to the usual suspects like modern Porsches 911,Panamera’s and a show on a loan with Porsche Cayenne’s.

3 days full of motorsports history and racing , an event not to be missed so make sure you won’t miss next year’s edition.
