The Barret-Jackson auction in Scottsdale will probably not enthusiasm the Porsche fans that are looking for great additions to their collection. Don’t misunderstand me. There are quite some Porsches that will be offered for sale, but except for the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, a Porsche 911 GT2 and some Porsche 911 Turbo’s, no real gems are to be found at Barret-Jackon. On the other hand, the lack of true rarities should not keep you from visiting the auction. When you are looking for a daily driver, or a classic car that you are going to drive, you might find it here.
2015 Porsche 918 Spyder
The 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder has been maintained exclusively by a local Porsche dealer and is always kept in a safe and secure inside space. The car has 3,487 actual miles, has never seen rain and has never been on a racetrack. Even though a Porsche 918 Spyder seems to be auctioned at most major car auction, it still is a rare opportunity to buy one. Even the RM Sotheby’s auction in Scottsdale doesn’t have one, in contradiction to the Gooding & Co auction. Let’s see which one will fetch the higher price.
1993 Porsche 968
More and more the the transaxle Porsches used to be misprized by many Porsche fans. However, with the booming market and according prices for the Porsche 911s, the appreciation for these cars has grown. And that’s why a Porsche 968 now occurs in an auction. You wouldn’t have expected that some years ago. The Porsche has been produced in large numbers, so it won’t exactly be a collectors item, unless for a Porsche 968 Clubsport. The Porsche 968 offered by Barret-Jacksonhas a complete history from new and is a California/Arizona car powered by a 3.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed manual transmission. A car that won’t fetch a sky high price, but will definitely bring lots of pleasure to the new owner.
2008 Porsche 911 GT2
A car that has good chances to attract potential buyers is the 2008 Porsche 911 GT2. The car was sold new in New York, and within a few months after delivery transported to California, where it resided in 2 prominent Porsche collections during the years. The Porsche 911 GT2 has an actual mileage of 3300 miles. Only just under 1250 Porsche 911 GT2 ( 997 series) left the factory , and they don’t show up that often in an auction. This car might be the subject of some active bidding.
