Biography Max Nathan
Max Nathan was a German driver who competed in the 1950s. He started racing in 1950. His first race was the ADAC Deutschlandfahrt in which he drove a Ford Taunus in the Touring cars < 1200 cc. His first huge success was 2nd place in the Rally of Monte Carlo in 1952. Nathan shared the wheel of a Volkswagen S4 with Heinz Schellhaaas. That same year, he won his class in the Rally Paris-Lisbon with a Porshe 356.
In August 1952 Nathan took another victory, again with a Porsche 356, at the Nürburgring. While rallying, Max Nathan felt at ease. So the next years of his career he took part in several of these rallies like the Mille Miglia, the Rally of the Alpes, the Rally of Monte Carlo, Lüttich-Rom-Lüttich, and the Tulpenrally. Max Nathan climbed twice in a car to compete in the Le Mans 24H., and he even started in the GP of Spa and GP of Berlin.

1956 turned out to be the most successful season for Max Nathan, in which he won the German Rally Championship. That same year, he was successful in races at the Solitude, Nürurgring, Wiesbaden and the Avus Ring in Berlin. On 27 February 1957, Max Nathan was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf as German Automobile Champion of series of sports cars. On September 2 1960, Max Nathan suffered a fatal car crash.
