Wheels Mariënwaerdt : where history and future meet

Every few years, Landgoed Mariënwaerdt in Beesd transforms into an automobilia pilgrimage: Wheels Mariënwaerdt returned for a three-day gala from 12-14 September 2025, where car lovers are treated to a vision that marries the deep heritage of automotive craftsmanship with the trailblazing innovations of tomorrow.

The event is built around its core theme “Present, Past and Future of the Automobile.” It’s not merely about showing off beautiful machines, but telling stories: the racing lineage of classic cars, the sleek power of modern supercars, and bold concept or electric cars that point towards what lies ahead. Vintage, young-timer, modern, EV, hypercar – they all have their place.

Some headline features of the 2025 edition included:

  • The Perridon Collection of Bugattis — ranging from pre-war classics through the modern icons like the Veyron and Chiron, and culminating in the one-off Bugatti “Brouillard”, making its Dutch debut.
  • The Pre-War Sprint, where cars built before 1940 are put through their paces, to demonstrate not just beauty, but agility, handling and heritage in motion.
  • A Concours d’Élégance, Club Concours, Supercar Paddock, Trial Experience, Car Catwalks: each of these is structured to make you reflect on where cars have come from, where they are now, and where they might be going.

One of the most anticipated stands at the event was from Porsche Centrum Gelderland / Porsche Classic Center Gelderland. We all know owner Mark Wegh is a car aficionado, and he proved that again in his stand at Wheels Mariënwaerdt. Porsche Centrum Gelderland is an official Porsche Exclusiv Manufaktur dealership, and probably the outstanding Porsche 911 GT3 RS in Delfts Blue livery was a perfect example to emphasize that. The reason for this specially decorated GT3 RS is the fact that Porsche has been active in the Netherlands for 75 years. In 1949, a certain Ben Pon started importing Porsches, just one year after the 356 went into production. This makes Porsche Netherlands the world’s oldest Porsche importer.

For fans of classic cars, Wheels Mariënwaerdt offers an opportunity to see that their beloved machines are not just relics, but the foundation for what comes next. And for those more excited by the future of mobility, it is grounding and inspiring to see where innovations (electric drivetrains, new materials, design languages) are rooted in a long history of engineering, style, and human ambition. We’re looking forward to the next edition, and we hope to catch up with you.
