With an expected number of 600.000 visitors, the Brussels Auto Salon is by far the biggest event in Belgium. In 2014 Febiac, the Belgian Automotive Industry organisation expects even 5% more visitors than during the lastedition in 2012, as is it a bi-annual event. The 13 halls of the Brussels expo where the Auto Salon takes place, is the seizeof about 15 soccer-fields, and houses about 600 cars and 400 motorcycles.
As you know, Belgian is not the biggest countryin the world so you can understand there’s not that much real hot news to gather or absolute novelties to discover. The Brussels AutoSalon is more like a giant showroom where the different manufacturers present their models and the salesmen try to convince youto buy one of their cars. Not like a car show in Frankfurt or Los Angeles, which are much more important to the manufacturers, sothe complete novelties are only presented there. However, this doesn’t mean it isn’t worth to visit the Auto Salon. On the contrary.
Porsche presented as a European Premiere the models Porsche Macan and Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet to the public. You all know how much is expected from the sales-figures of the baby-SUV Porsche Macan. And how about the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabrioletwhich is one of the flagships of the current 911 series. Unfortunately there’s no Porsche 918 Spyder in Brussels, but as you know there was aexhibition in the Brussels Autoworld Museum dedicated to the Ferdinand Porsche Heritage, where this great car could be admired.
And ofcourse no car show, without the lovely girls at each manufacturer’s showroom.
