Flanders Collection Cars celebrates 75 years of Porsche Sportscars with some rarities

Bastos Porsche 911 SCRS

This weekend the 33rd edition of Flanders Collection Cars will take place at Flanders Expo. The organization is pleased with a record number of exhibitors. More than 150 exhibitors will introduce themselves to the public. Among them are Feryn Dakar Sport and some very special “Tobacco Wars” Porsche models.

In 2023, the spotlight is directed toward off-road cars. The organizers will surprise the visitors with  a special exhibit of Range Rover Classics, including the RR Classic LSE and 4×6. In addition, Feryn Dakar Sport will be present with the Dakar Rally line-up. Both the Mercedes 6×6 race truck (2022 winner Classic Dakar Trucks) as well as the Toyota 100 Classic of Pascal Feryn and Koen Wauters will be set up here.

Moreover, Porsche is celebrating its 75th anniversary. On the occasion of this anniversary, Flanders Collection Cars will pay homage to the iconic sports car manufacturer. Because of the ‘off-road’ theme, a nod to Porsche’s rally past is chosen. 911 Motorsport is therefore presenting not one but 2 of the 20 models produced of the Porsche 911 SC RS from the JFD Collection. These unique racing cars were produced by Porsche in the 1980s to meet the homologation of the World Rally Championship.

The 911 SC RS Bastos (1984 victory with P. Snijers & 1986 victory with P. Gaban) and the 911 SC RS Belga (1984 vice champion Belgian Rally Championship with R. Droogmans) will be presented to the public in the first hall, next to the BEHVA booth.

The third well-known Rothmans Porsche 911 of Bernard Munster Autosport comes directly from the Legend Boucles @ Bastogne where Tom Boonen made his debut in rallying with this car a few weeks ago. This car is presented at the “Collectors Club” bar in Hall 5.

Visitors can also discover numerous other exhibitors. For example, more than 300 classic cars will be offered for sale. In addition, enthusiasts will also find car memorabilia, documentation, art, clothing, parts and so much more.

Flanders Collection Cars will take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February 2023 in exhibition halls 3, 5 & 7 of Flanders Expo, Ghent. More information about the fair can be found on the event website.
