Alte Kelter in Fellbach filled with Porsche parts, literature and memorabilia
Last year Paul-Ernst Strähle Jr. decided to take a sabatical year with his Strähle Swap Meet. Now in 2017 the Strähle Swap meet is back. The move from the well-known Barbara-Kunkelin Halle in Schorndorf to the Alte Kelter in Fellbach was definitely a good decision. The location Paul-Ernst Strähle chose was a shot in the rose.
The Alte Kelter is much larger than the previous location in Schorndorf, what makes it much more convenient for both the exhibitors and the visitors to enjoy the show. Where in Schorndorf parking has always been an issue, that was absolute not the case in Fellbach.
Approximately 100 exhibitors turned the Alte Kelter into the largest indoor Porsche only Swap Meet I’ve ever seen in Europe. They literally turned up from all over Europe to show their goods : Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Austria.. all were present. Parts from the early Porsche 356 up to the more modern Porsche 993s, Porsche sales brochures from all ages, piles of Porsche Christophorus magazines including some rather early and rare.
Prototype of the Porsche 911R book by Christoph Mäder, Thomas Gruber & Georg Konradsheim
It probably was a world debut. At the tables of the Austrian dealer Walter Traxler you could pre order the Porsche 911R book that will be published soon by TAG Motorbooks. You’ll all know TAG Motorbooks as the publisher of the Porsche 911 Carrera RS bible by Konradsheim & Gruber. We’ll bring you a preview of the Porsche 911R book in the coming days, and a review as soon as it is published.
The Schorndorf Swap Meet continued in 2016 , and it will so this year, in just 2 weeks. We are curious how these 2 events will survive next to each other, as distance and timing for 2 similar events like these are far from optimal. We bring you report of the 2017 Schorndorf Swap Meet before we can take any conclusions.
