The 7th edition of the Porsche Classic Coast Tour will go down in history as “the storm edition”. Due to strong gusts and heavy rain on the coast around 3 p.m., the park La Potiniére was completely evacuated and closed by police order. All participants were meanwhile “on the road”, engrossed in their road book or enjoying an ice cream offered by one of the sponsors under a radiant sun, unaware of the storm that forced the organization to plan B.
100 air-cooled Porsches on their way to arrive for a well-deserved culinary evening reception did not know what was happening in De Haan at the Park La Potinière where they started that same morning under a rather blue sky. In the park however, the PCCT crew had to act fast to take down the tents previously put up to host the catering later that night. Luckily Hotel Astoria offered some help, and the catering was moved to the hotel.
All participants were greeted at the arrival in the pouring rain by crew and some police officers to guide them to a place where they could safely park their Porsches
The drivers were warmly welcomed for the reception at the beautiful welcoming Hotel Astoria.
The organization donates the profits of the event to charity, and this year non less than 6000 euros were donated to Think Pink. Fingers crossed for next year, August 16 2025, for the 8th edition. You can enter your car for 2025 from October 1st at www.pcct.be.
