Well, honestly, the title may be a bit misleading. After all, there was no doubt at all that the Strähle Porsche Swap Meet would not be back. And yes, the event will take place in the Alte Kelter in Fellbach, close to Stuttgart, once again. Even more, it will celebrate it’s 20th anniversary, so we wonder whether the organization will have something special in mind for visitors and exhibitors. Years ago, the event started in the Strähle workshop in Plüderhausen, after Paul-Ernst Strähle Jr. and Marco Marinello visited the Los Angeles Lit and Toy Show, and thought an event like that close to Porsche’s hometown would be a splendid idea. And it was, after a few years, the event moved to the Kunst und Technik museum in Schorndorf, until that was too small too. Next location was the Kunkelin Halle, in Schorndorf again. After a one year absence, the event moved again to the current location, the gorgeous Alte Kelter in Fellbach.
The Strähle Porsche Swap Meet is more than just a gathering of collectors looking for a gem or a part. It is sort of a meeting of friends, who only see each other every once and a while, but have a thing in common: a passion and Love for Porsche. Sharing that passion with friends, making new friends, enjoying some Schwabisch food and a German beer, and meanwhile looking for a part, or unveiling literature in boxes covered under the table; that is what the Strähle Porsche Swap Meet is all about.
What makes the event even better is that the location is so close to Stuttgart, that it would be foolish to not combine it with a visit to the Porsche Museum. And remember, next to the brand with the prancing horse (no I do not mean Ferrari), Stuttgart houses another legendary brand. And yes, they do have a museum too, and oooh boy is that worth a visit. The Mercedes Museum is just a few kilometers away from the Alte Kelter.
Reason enough to mark November 16 2024 in your agenda, and start looking for a hotel to spend some nights near Stuttgart. And in case you do have some parts or literature you’d like to part with, why not get in touch with the organization to order a few tables. I’m sure you won’t regret the decision to come, and you’ll have some big fun. See you in the Alte Kelter, I’ll be there!!!
