“The Lloyd Hawkins Collection features a selection of important competition cars, including iconic models like the RSR and 935. The Rudy ‘Mr. 993’ Mancinas collection offers enthusiasts the opportunity to acquire some of the most sought-after modern classics from Porsche and BMW, many of which are finished in rare or one-off colors.”

The Lloyd Hawkins Collection

Mr. Hawkins first experienced the marvel of Porsche’s engineering excellence when he acquired a 911 T in the early 1980s.  The joy he experienced with that car, combined with  his passion for endurance racing, led him to assemble a superb collection of Porsche automobiles.  The focues of the collection was mainly on historic competition cars from the 1970s and 1980s. Hawkinshas actively participated in both professional and historic racing series with his Porsches, including in events like the Porsche Rennsport Reunion and Classic Daytona 24H.

Among the cars offered for sale are a spectacular duo of 1979 Porsche 935s. Only 37 Porsche 935s were built to customer-specifications between 1977 and 1979.  The first Porsche 935 comes in the Interscope livery, as it raced at the 1979 Le Mans 24H. The second Porsche 935 is 1 of only 7 built in 1979, delivered new and raced by Otis Chandler.

Another highlight from the Lloyd Hawkins Collection is a competition-proven 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RSR IROC. Just 15 RSRs were built for Roger Penske’s IROC Series, what makes it among the most desirable of all factory-built racing 911s. This particular car started in both thDaytona 24 Hours and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

The Rudy “Mr. 993” Mancinas Collection

Gooding&Co Amelia Island Rudy Mancinas Collection
The cars of the Rudy Mancinas Collection

The late Rudy Mancinas, known to many as “Mr. 993,” was a Texas-based collector with a deep passion for Porsche . He primarily focused on limited-production, enthusiast models in rare, vibrant color schemes. His collection included many 993-generation Porsche 911s, which he “Rudyfied” by adding personal touches and modifications to enhance their appearances and make them more unique. After Mr. Mancinas passing last year, Gooding & Company is honored to present 10 Porsches from his collection. Remarkably, all of the cars from the Rudy Mancinas collection are offered without reserve.

The Porsche offerings in the Gooding&Co auction include five wide-body 993 Carrera 2S and 4S models, as well as unique examples from the 964, 996, and 997 generations.  All of them come  in a range of special colors.

And there is more…

And as if that is not enough, some more Porsches come up for auction in the Gooding&Co Amelia Island auction. The 2005 Porsche Carrera GT is a hot car the last few months. Several have sold the last few months for staggering prices. The car in the auction has less than 2400 miles on the counter and is the Only US-Specification Carrera GT Finished in Paint-to-Sample Polar Silver. A 1959 Porsche 718 RSK Spyder is a rare bird that only comes up for sale every once and a while. Porsche 718-018 is offered from single-family ownership of over 50 years. The family had the car completely restored in 2014. After its restoration, this Porsche 718 RSK Spyder debuted at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in 2018. After the Concours, the car was showcased on display for about six months at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta
