It is coming real close now, only a few weeks left before Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7 takes off. Itwill be a fitting tribute to the 75th anniversary of Porsche sports cars that is celebrated this year. TWeathertech Raceway Laguna Seca near Monterey, California will host the 4 day event again. From September 28th to October 1, 2023 thousands of fans will join the fun to experience many of the most iconic Porsches , drivers and designers in the marque’s history.

“Icons are at the heart of the Porsche experience, whether they are some the most memorable cars we have put on the track, the legendary drivers who pushed those cars to new limits or the biggest moments in our rich history of motorsports wins,” said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “What better way to celebrate our 75th anniversary this year than to bring them all together for one great weekend with Porsche fans and new friends. September can’t come soon enough!”

The cars

Celebrating 75 years of Porsche Sportscars at a legendary race track. Sounds like an amazing lot of fun. And what would that anniversary party be without the presence of the cars themselves. And just as in previous editions of Porsche Rennsport, there will he hundreds of Porsches, from a daily Porsche Boxster, to the rarest of the rare. So far i don’t know what cars from the Porsche Museum will be shipped to California, to be part of the celebration. But I’m convinced, they won’t let you down. You’ll see some proper race cars like the Porsche 935 and Porsche 917. But ofcourse they’ll bring Porsche 356 Number 1 (or an exact replica as it is known the Porsche Museum has at least 1 replica) since it all started with that one. And the story of Porsche doesn’t stop after 75 years and that’s why it is already announced they’ll bring the Porsche Mission X Concept car to Rennsport Reunion VII. And no doubt, there will be much more to discover and experience.
The people

Porsche is all about cars, obviously. But what would Porsche have been with those fantastic sports cars, if there were no guys brave enough to grab the wheel, push the pedal to the medal, and risk their lifes to bring home another victory for Porsche? And what about the engineers, and mechanics that build and maintained the cars, often in extremely difficult and challenging situations? All these men are icons too. And you’ll have the opportunity to see these guys back on track. Some of the impressive list of guyes that we already know to join Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7 are Patrick Long, Richard Attwood, Dick Barbour, Derek Bell, Joerg Bergmeister, Timo Bernhard, Thierry Boutsen, Kevin Buckler, Romain Dumas, John Fitzpatrick, George Follmer, David Donohue, Hurley Haywood, Jacky Ickx, Gijs Van Lennep, Manfred Schurti,Norbert Singer.. and the list goes on and on.
