The Porsches in the 2023 Hemicuda Rally

The 22nd edition of the Hemicuda Rally had approximately 150 cars at the start. Among the competitors, you could find several national champions and a host of top cars. Even before the start, every rally fan was convinced that this year the Hemicuda Rally would be a spectacle again. Next to the winner of the 2022 edition of the Hemicuda Rally, who was eager to add another trophy to his collection too, you could find 2 more Porsches at the start of the regular rally. Only 1 Porsche at the start of the Historic rally, and a fantastic Porsche 911 built to RSR specs in an Almeras Frères livery as a 0-car.

On Saturday, the cars started from 18:15 in reverse number order on the KP Middelkerke, so that the fastest teams drove in the dark. On Sunday, starting position was dependent on the results of Saturday. Monnens/Vuylsteke in a Porsche 991 GT3, winners of the last edition, took a start in 10th position, and reached 2nd after the 4th RT. Meulders/Jacobs in another Porsche 911 GT3 were at position 32 in the ranking, just 2 positions better than their start position.

In RT10, the last RT of the rally, Monnens/Vuylsteke had a flat tire, which drew him 1 position back. Good enough for a podium spot, but not the one the duo hoped for. Syx/Vanrobaeys were the winners of the 2023 Hemicuda Rally in the Citroen C3 Rally2. In the historic rally, Withouck / Withouck in the Porsche 924S finished 34th and last.
