After he took the wheel of the Ferrari 365 P2 rom his fellow Swiss team memher Herbert Müller in the Monza 1000km, he crashed severely in the Parabolica. The car made a few turns and flew over the earth wall next to the track in the forest. The car exploded and Tonny Spychiger unfortunately did not survive the crash.
