When you live in Belgium and you are interested in classic cars, there’s no doubt you know about the Ciney Retromoteur that’s going on during the Pentecost weekend. The Retromoteur show is not the most important vintage car show you can find in Belgium : that honor goes without any doubt to the Antwerp Classic Salon, the little brother of the Technoclassica. But when you are in thinking in terms of number of exhibitors or number of visitors, Retromoteur might be the number 1 in Belgium.
Nearly 600 exhibitors show their stuff on a surface, both indoor and open-air, that counts 35.000 square meters. The over 20.000 visitors come from all over the Benelux, Germany and France to stroll between the piles of goodies : parts , literature, memorabilia, cars, clothes.. anything that can be linked to the vintage car world can be found.
As the Retromoteur isn’t a Porsche only show, it sure is an adventure for a Porsche aficionado to find the right stuff. But no doubt there is lots of interesting things to be discovered on the tables : it is like a flea market : you’re not sure what you gonna find, but chances you leave without buying something are small. You couldn’t find that much Porsches either but nevertheless some nice impact bumper Porsche 911s for sale, a Porsche 356, Porsche 914 and Porsche 944. Those in the stage of restoring a car yet, may have been more successful as quite a lot of parts could be found, next to some great Porsche sales literature and a wonderful Porsche crest dealer sign.
