The Porsche 804 F1
Next car was the Porsche 804 F1, a similar car as the one Dan Gurney drove to victory in the 1962 French GP. That was the first and by now only world championship F1 victory for a Porsche F1 car. The Porsche 804 F1 made it’s debut in May 1962 in the Dutch GP with Joakim Bonnier at the wheel. Everything on the Porsche 804, weighing just 461 kgs, was new. Only 4 cars were built and 7 GP’s raced. Porsche pulls the plug on racing F1 to free up fund for the purchase of the Reutter car body Factory. The Porsche 917KH at the Porsche Sound Nacht 2018
With the Porsche 917KH, a true super car was entering the Arena. In 1970, Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood won the very first overall Le Mans 24H Victory for Porsche in a similar car. A splendid reason to bring both men back together on stage, and let them comment on the magnificent Porsche 917.
