From 1997, Porsche offers talented young pilots the opportunity to race the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the UPS Porsche Junior Team to mature into professional drivers. A strategy that seems to work, as many of the current Porsche factory drivers started with Porsche in the Porsche Junior Team. Timo Bernhard and Mark Lieb are just a few of the pilots who learned their skills in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (Typ 996) at the Porsche Sound Nacht 2018
The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (Typ 996) is the first GT racing car to feature a sequential gearbox. Even though only 27 of these cars are built by hand in Weissach, the car has proven it’s reliability. With the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, the US based Alex Job Racing Team promptly clinches the driver, tean and manufacturer championship title in the ALMS. Stefan Ortelli and Mark Lieb are the pilots on stage.
